Executive secretaries of all sectors in the Northern Province have been reminded to respect the law of driving by having the driver’s license before they attempt it while unauthorized.
Chief Supt. Gilbert Gumira, head of the police in the area said this, after executive secretaries in this province were recently given vehicles to aid them in their daily work.
After being given the vehicles, many executive secretaries started driving them without having the license which aroused concern in the police force.
Chief Supt. Gilbert Gumira went on to explain that driving without the license is punishable by the law and those who will be caught will be punished.
The executive secretaries in the Northern Province wished to have a special driving examination but the Chief Supt.
Gilbert Gumira said that this is not possible because all Rwandans are equal and there is no favoritism and they will have to do the test with all the people.
He explained that the only thing that could be done for all of them is to start on them during the mass driving test. He asked these secretaries to hire drivers meanwhile before they get their own driving license.
